“The Mentors”

In this blog, I would like to introduce the blogs that I am using as my “mentor blogs” for my blog posts. There are four blogs that I am using to help me in my writing style and learn from and I will be talking about them today.

The first blog I have looked to as a mentor in my blogging journey is 101Tactics. This blog talks a lot about different team strategies and news for soccer. The way the authors of this blog write is a very informative style. They write to inform and not to relate personally to their audience. The biggest thing I can learn from this blog is that I need to speak to a person rather than a crowd. What I mean by this is that I must write for the one person that will read the work rather than target it to a broad audience.

The next mentor blog I would like to introduce is TrainingBeta Blog. This blog talks mainly about rock climbing, the training and preparation that aids in gaining knowledge and strength for climbing. I can learn from this blog in many ways, but the biggest thing I can learn from TrainingBeta is that, while I am writing, I can hint at my future posts in my blogs, make my blog or piece of writing interesting and fun to read, and lastly have structure that is clear and easy to follow.

Mentor blog number three is Micheal Mathis’ Bass Fishing Blog. Honestly this is my favorite blog to read. Micheal Mathis’s blog is so interesting to read! He has a bunch of stories about his fishing adventures and great tips for fishing all from his personal experiences. Every post he makes is either a story about his fishing or tips that will help you with your own fishing. Personally I love this. Hearing from another, more experienced fisherman some ways that I can make fishing more fun and better overall it makes me more interested in the sport as a whole. The biggest takeaway I have from this blog is that, as a writer, I need to relate to the audience and give them a reason to read my writings. Mathis makes it fun to read all while getting a point across and teaching his readers something worth learning.

The last blog I would like to introduce is Infinite Discs Blog. Is blog that talks mainly about disc golf discs, news, and the sport in general. Honestly there are so many discs within this sport and having this source helps find a good quality disc while comparing prices for every budget. Infinite Discs’ blog is very helpful in many ways and that is why I am using them as a mentor blog!
